The Syrian Ministry of Health announced that 5 people were killed and 16 injured in an explosion inside a cafe near the Palace of Justice in Damascus.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to Al Jazeera, Ahmed Al-Bakour, director of the emergency department of the Syrian Ministry of Health, announced that 14 injured people were transferred from the explosion site on Al-Nasr Street in Damascus to Al-Mujtahid Hospital moments after the explosion.
 
Al-Bakour explained that the cases transferred to the hospital include 4 dead and 10 injured people with varying degrees of severity.
 
He also announced that another injured person was transferred to the Syrian Red Crescent Hospital for medical care.
 
Syrian media reported on Thursday afternoon that a loud explosion was heard around the Palace of Justice in central Damascus.
 
The Syrian TV website announced that the explosion occurred on Al-Nasr Street and near the Palace of Justice, and initial information indicates that several people were injured.
 
At the same time, social media users posted videos showing a number of citizens injured in an explosion inside a cafe.
 
The cause of the explosion is still unknown and no official body has yet issued a statement about the incident.
