Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Marwan Barghouti’s office announced in a statement that the Zionist Prisons Organization has taken its policy of pressure on this Palestinian prisoner leader to a new stage and has intensified measures related to his solitary confinement.
According to this statement, the conditions of Barghouti’s detention in Ganot prison have become significantly more severe.
Barghouti’s office described these measures as “arbitrary and continuous” and called them part of the Zionist regime’s repressive and punitive policy against political prisoners.
According to the report, Marwan Barghouti, a prominent and symbolic figure in the Palestinian struggle, has been in solitary confinement for nearly two and a half years. He has been held in solitary confinement continuously since November 2023, the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip, and has been moved between solitary confinement sections of different prisons many times during this time. These frequent transfers, according to human rights organizations, are aimed at increasing psychological pressure on prisoners and cutting them off from other prisoners. The intensification of strict measures against Barghouti continues despite repeated calls by the international community and human rights organizations for his release or improvement of his conditions of imprisonment.
