Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul announced in a press release that more than 200 economic activists, industrialists, and investors from the country and Iran attended the embassy’s economic banquet and discussed the development of economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Iranian Embassy, during this program, specialized meetings and meetings were held between economic activists from the two countries in the construction, pharmaceutical, laboratory equipment, food, battery manufacturing, and technical and engineering services sectors, and the participants examined areas of cooperation and joint investment.
The program concluded with the signing of three memorandums of understanding between companies in the country and Iran; the memorandums of understanding aimed at developing private sector cooperation, expanding trade relations, and strengthening joint investment between the two countries.
It is worth noting that in recent years, Kabul and Tehran have tried to increase the level of economic and commercial cooperation by holding joint economic meetings, trade exhibitions, and meetings between private sector activists, and to pave the way for the implementation of joint projects and the development of trade exchanges between the two countries.
The three signed memorandums of understanding mainly focused on cooperation in the production of construction materials, the import of medical equipment, and joint investment in the solar energy sector.
It is worth noting that the volume of trade exchanges between the country and Iran has been growing in recent years, and the parties emphasize increasing this volume and diversifying the traded goods.
