Expanding the deployment of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Anbar; Extensive operations to pursue and clear the remnants of ISIS

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: A senior security source in Anbar Province, Iraq, announced that the Popular Mobilization Forces have been deployed extensively in the eastern areas of Fallujah with the aim of strengthening security measures, pursuing wanted individuals, and clearing the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group.

 

In an interview with Al-Ma’ulouma News Agency, this source stated that the Popular Mobilization Forces have begun operations to inspect, control security, identify wanted individuals, and pursue the remaining ISIS elements since Saturday by deploying in the areas of Al-Karma County, located east of Fallujah and the communication route leading to Baghdad.

 

He added that the presence of the Popular Mobilization Forces has been strengthened on the communication axes between Al-Karma city and the borders of Baghdad province, a move aimed at closing security gaps, preventing the infiltration of terrorist elements, and consolidating security stability in the region.

 

According to the source, the Popular Mobilization Forces have also increased their deployment in watchtowers and monitoring centers, and have activated fixed and mobile checkpoints along the Al-Karma-Baghdad road to fully monitor all suspicious movements.

 

He clarified that the Popular Mobilization Forces units have also been deployed in a number of desert and remote areas to clear these areas point by point of the remnants of ISIS terrorist elements and establish sustainable security.

 

In another development, the Popular Mobilization Forces Command in Anbar province announced the discovery and destruction of a hideout belonging to the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group.

 

According to the statement of the command, this operation was carried out after receiving accurate intelligence information and on the orders of the Popular Mobilization Forces of Anbar Province, and the forces of the 1st Al-Qaim Battalion began their security mission in the area.

 

During this operation, the Popular Mobilization Forces identified a hideout belonging to ISIS elements, where a motorcycle and a number of fuel barrels were kept. After going through security procedures, this equipment was completely destroyed to eliminate the possibility of terrorists using it again.

 

Emphasizing the continuation of security operations, the Popular Mobilization Forces Command announced that the units of this force will continue their missions of pursuing, clearing and confronting the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group in order to further strengthen security and stability in Anbar Province.
