Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Bahraini regime began the trial process of a group of prominent Shiite scholars today after referring their cases to the country's Supreme Criminal Court.
According to Al-Ahd media, these trials will include not only the clerics imprisoned in Bahraini prisons, but also a number of Shiite scholars residing outside the country.
According to media sources, the first hearing of these cases will be held today, Sunday, at the Bahraini Supreme Criminal Court.
Observers and informed sources believe that these cases are more of a sectarian nature than a judicial one and are being pursued in order to increase pressure on the Shiite community and religious scholars of the country.
