Signing of a contract to extract gold mines in Takhar with an investment of more than $89 million
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced that a contract to extract gold deposits in Chah-Ab district of Takhar province has been signed with a domestic company; a contract that will involve an investment of more than $89 million and the creation of thousands of job opportunities.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed a contract to extract gold deposits in the Sholdara and Warchi areas of Chah-Ab district of Takhar province with a domestic company.
 
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced that the investment cost in this project is $89 million and 64 thousand US dollars and the contract period is set for 10 years.
 
According to the ministry, in addition to paying a 40 percent royalty to the Islamic Emirate, the contracted company will also spend $2 million on social services.
 
Also, with the practical launch of this project, about seven thousand people will be directly and indirectly employed, an issue that, according to officials, can play an important role in economic growth and job creation in the region.
