Officials and sources close to the Sanaa government have warned that if Saudi Arabia continues its naval and air blockade of Yemen, the country’s armed forces will stop Saudi ships from sailing in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Informed sources told Al-Akhbar newspaper that the Ansarullah movement is considering using the strategic leverage of the Bab al-Mandab Strait to pressure Saudi Arabia with the aim of ending the naval and air blockade of Yemen.
According to the report, Yemen has given the United Nations and Saudi Arabia a deadline to lift all restrictions on maritime traffic in the country’s ports. These sources warned that if Riyadh ignores them, the Yemeni armed forces will prevent Saudi ships from sailing in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Meanwhile, Khalid Al-Shaif, the director of Sanaa International Airport, announced that preparations are underway to resume flights to the airport, saying that the plan includes new destinations. He also stressed that the resumption of flights between Sanaa and Tehran is completely legal.
These developments come as Saudi Arabia, through a statement issued by the spokesman for the military coalition led by it, announced that it would confront any threat to the country’s security. In contrast, the Ansarullah movement has emphasized that it will use the strategic capacity of Bab al-Mandab to end the imposed siege.
Last Friday, the Yemeni armed forces, referring to Saudi Arabia’s failed attempt to prevent an Iranian civilian plane from landing at Sanaa Airport, announced that this attempt was thwarted by air defense systems and the plane successfully landed at the airport, disembarked its passengers, and then returned to Tehran with other passengers.
Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Yemeni government for Defense and Security Affairs, in response to the threats of Saudi officials, emphasized that Yemen will put an end to the coercive policies of Saudi Arabia and the United States. He added that Sanaa is determined to break the restrictions imposed on its sea and air traffic and is fully prepared for any emergency situation.
