Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Pakistan Observer newspaper claimed in a report that Islamabad will most likely host the third round of Iran-US indirect talks. According to this report, these talks are scheduled to be held on July 14-15, after the funeral of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The Pakistani media also claimed that the previous two rounds of Iran-US technical talks were held in Burgenstock, Switzerland, and Doha, Qatar, in which the two sides discussed a range of technical and diplomatic issues.
According to the report, the release of Iran’s frozen assets and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz were among the most important topics of recent talks between Tehran and Washington in Doha.
According to ISNA, the Pakistan Observer also reported the imminent visit of a high-level delegation from Iran, headed by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, to Pakistan, and wrote that the visit will take place after the funeral ceremony. According to the report, the delegation will consist of officials from the sectors of agriculture, industry, mining, trade, roads and urban development, foreign affairs, culture, cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts, and will travel to Pakistan with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations.
The newspaper further claimed that Pakistan is playing a mediating role in the talks between Tehran and Washington and has previously hosted talks between the two sides.
However, so far, no Iranian, American, or Pakistani official has officially confirmed the time and location of the next round of talks, and the report published by the Pakistan Observer is no more than a media claim.
