Serial explosions near Macron
Along with French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Syria, several explosions occurred today (Tuesday) near his residence in Damascus. The explosions have created tension in the Syrian capital.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Media sources reported at least two explosions near the headquarters of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism in Damascus; the explosions occurred near the hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron is staying.

Al Jazeera reported that several explosions were heard in the Syrian capital, and the network's reporter emphasized that the explosions occurred near the Ministry of Tourism and Macron's residence.

Reuters also reported, citing a security source, that several bombs exploded near the hotel where the French President is staying.

Al Arabiya's correspondent also reported that the convoy of cars carrying Macron's entourage had left their residence just moments before the explosions.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Al-Ikhbariya network reported that the self-proclaimed Syrian President Abu Muhammad al-Julani arrived at the presidential palace to welcome Macron as the explosions were heard.

Emmanuel Macron arrived in Syria yesterday and there were no reports of casualties or damage from the explosions. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident, and investigations into its extent are ongoing.
