Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Yehiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the United States, announced in a meeting with members of the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington that the next round of talks between Lebanon and Israel will be held in Rome, Italy, on July 15 and 16.
According to the Hebrew newspaper "Aharonot", these meetings will be held at the ambassadorial level and within the framework of the ongoing negotiations between the two sides.
At the same time, Lebanese and Israeli media published the full text of the security annex to the framework agreement signed between the United States, Israel and Lebanon on June 26, 2026 in Washington. This document describes the mechanisms for implementing security and military arrangements in southern Lebanon and the stages of clearing, verification, establishment and reconstruction.
According to the document, in the first phase, the disarmament of armed groups not affiliated with official institutions, the destruction of military infrastructure, ammunition depots, tunnels and command centers are envisaged, and in the next phase, an agreed third party will verify the full implementation of these measures.
Aharonot also reported that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump on July 21.
