Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Al-Mayadeen Network announced, citing its correspondent in Iraq, that the funeral of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution was held today (Wednesday) with the attendance of a million people in the city of Najaf Ashraf.
According to this report, after the funeral ceremony, the martyred leader's body was transferred to the holy city of Karbala to continue the ceremony.
Al-Mayadeen reporter also announced that about 4,500 journalists and media activists from inside and outside Iraq were responsible for media coverage of the ceremony.
The network added that, according to statistics recorded in Najaf Ashraf province, more than 2.5 million people attended the funeral, making it one of the largest funerals in Iraq.
