Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced that the extreme heat wave at the end of June 2026, with record-breaking temperatures recorded in Germany, has left about 5,100 victims.
According to the institute's calculations, the unprecedented increase in temperatures in the final weeks of June has led to a significant increase in heat-related deaths, especially among the elderly, the sick and vulnerable.
Experts have warned that the continuation of extreme heat waves is one of the consequences of climate change and has made the need to strengthen preventive measures and prepare health systems to deal with this phenomenon more evident than ever.
