Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, has issued a decree setting November 28, 2026 as the date for the Palestinian Legislative Council elections.
According to the Wafa News Agency, the decree calls on Palestinian citizens in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to participate in free and direct elections to the Legislative Council to elect members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
These elections will be held in accordance with the General Elections Law and its amendments, and are the first Palestinian parliamentary elections since January 2006.
The decree also states that the date for the presidential elections of the Palestinian Authority, scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, will be announced in accordance with the law and on time.
