Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Court of the Emir of Qatar issued a statement announcing that four days of mourning have been declared throughout Qatar following the death of Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the country's former emir and father of the current emir.
According to the statement, the funeral prayer for Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be held after the Maghrib prayer at the Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque, and his body will then be buried in the Lusail Cemetery.
Qatari officials also announced that the public mourning began today and will continue for four days.
Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani died this morning at the age of 74. He was considered an influential figure in Qatar's political and economic developments over the past decades.
