The official Palestinian news agency “Wafa” reported, citing the Islamic Endowments Authority in Jerusalem, that 135 extremist Zionist settlers, in a coordinated action and with the extensive deployment of the Zionist regime’s police forces, entered this holy site through the “Al-Maghrabi” gate on the southern side of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to this report, after entering the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the settlers performed Talmudic rituals and patrolled the eastern and southern parts of this holy site under strict security measures.
Palestinian sources have stated that such entries into Al-Aqsa Mosque are carried out frequently with the support of the occupying forces and have always been accompanied by protests from Palestinians and the Islamic Endowments Authority of Jerusalem. Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered one of the holiest Islamic sites, and any change in its historical and legal status has always led to increased tensions in the city of Jerusalem and the occupied territories.
