Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov considered the recent US attacks on Iran a violation of the existing understandings between the two countries and warned of its consequences on the diplomatic process.
Lavrov stated that the resumption of these attacks not only does not help resolve the differences, but also undermines the understandings that had been formed between the parties previously.
He added: "This situation not only does not lead to a resolution, but also closes the window that this understanding seemed to have slightly opened."
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that escalating tensions and resorting to military action make the prospects for dialogue and reaching political solutions more difficult, and stressed the need for the parties to adhere to the path of diplomacy to reduce regional tensions.
