Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Following the ill-considered, short-sighted and unrealistic statements of Ramazan Bashardost, the isolated and controversial representative of the former government assembly, Hojatoleslam Wal-Muslimin Seyyed Baqir Hosseini Baghlani, a religious scholar and socio-cultural activist, in response to his recent statements, told AVA News Agency; Bashardost made claims against the Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in his statements, which, according to him, lack any real basis and should be criticized and rejected by experts.
Referring to Bashardost’s claim that it is not allowed to build a mosque for Sunnis in Iran, he added that this claim is not consistent with the existing realities, because in various provinces and regions of Iran, including Sistan and Baluchestan, Golestan, Azerbaijan, Kermanshah, Fars, Khaf, and Torbat-e-Jam, there are a significant population of Sunnis living and having mosques, Friday imams, and congregational imams.
Hosseini Baghlani also described Bashardost’s statements comparing the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to “a number” as “a clear insult to the sanctities of Muslims, especially Shiites,” and added that insulting the leader of a community is also considered an insult to the followers of that community.
In another part of his speech, he accused Ramazan Bashardost of being dependent on foreigners and presenting views aligned with them, and claimed that he had always taken positions against the personalities and movements within Afghanistan.
Referring to the positions of the martyred Imam Khamenei on Islamic unity, this religious scholar clarified that he considered insulting the sanctities of the Sunnis to be forbidden and had always emphasized strengthening unity between Shiites and Sunnis and confronting divisive conspiracies.
While condemning Ramazan Bashardost’s statements, Sayyed Baqir Hosseini Baghlani called on the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to take the necessary measures to prevent the repetition of such statements.
It is worth mentioning that he mentioned a memory of one of the parliamentarians of the previous government, saying: “When Bashardost was being expelled from parliament every day, I told one of the lawyers; This Bashardost is a real person and support him.” The lawyer replied to me: “Bashardost has two major problems; "One is that he is a mercenary of foreigners, and the other is that he is crazy and insane."
