Efforts to regulate fair transportation fares in Herat; Governor calls on traders to reduce prices
Sheikh Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, in an extensive meeting attended by executive officials, representatives of chambers of commerce and trade, and truck drivers, emphasized the need to determine fair fares for truck drivers to prevent an increase in the living costs of citizens.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: A meeting chaired by the governor of Herat was held with the participation of heads of public works departments, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the Chamber of Industries and Mines, representatives of the Standards and Quality Department, and the Department of Transport. The main goal of this gathering was to closely examine the challenges in the transportation of goods and achieve a fair price structure.

In this meeting, the governor of Herat emphasized the key role of multilateral cooperation and stated: "Officials, traders, industrialists, and drivers must work together to ensure the welfare and comfort of the people. Fair fares can only be determined through interaction between these groups.”

Referring to the economic pressure on citizens, Maulana Islam Jarr further called on the commercial and industrial sectors to play a more active role in reducing the prices of petroleum products and other basic goods. He emphasized that traders and industrialists should responsibly “put public interests before personal interests” in order to support the economic stability of the region.

In the final part of the meeting, representatives of freight trucks, industrialists, and traders, while raising their challenges and suggestions regarding the fare structure, emphasized the need to create administrative and executive facilities. All parties present at the meeting agreed on the need to reach a collective agreement to regulate fair fares and strengthen the supply chain of goods in Herat province.
