Quranic gathering “From Recitation to Martyrdom” in Mazar-e-Sharif; Emphasis on the connection between the Quran, the culture of sacrifice and resistance

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Simultaneously with the ceremony to commemorate the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (RA), the Ferdowsi Library in Mazar-e-Sharif hosted a Quranic gathering “From Recitation to Martyrdom”. This program was held with the presence of religious scholars, Quran reciters, cultural officials, youth and those interested in Islamic education, and the role of the Holy Quran in promoting the culture of sacrifice, martyrdom and resistance against oppression was emphasized.

 

The gathering began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran, and then the speakers gave speeches on the place of the Holy Quran in the lives of Muslims, the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom, and the role of religious leaders in preserving Islamic values.

Dr. Seyyed Rouhollah Hosseini, the Cultural Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the country and the Head of Iran's Cultural Affairs in Mazar-e-Sharif, referring to the personality of the martyred leader, stated in this gathering that martyrdom is the pinnacle of human life, and the martyred Imam and tireless fighter of the Islamic nation, His Holiness Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah have mercy on him), portrayed this concept in its full meaning by drinking the martyrdom drink.

 

He added: "If the funeral of the martyred Imam had taken place in other Islamic countries, including Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the country, the funeral would have been welcomed by millions of Muslim people in these countries, such as Iraq." The Iranian Cultural Advisor emphasized that the martyred leader spent his entire life defending Islam, the Holy Quran, and the Islamic nation, and finally, while reciting the Quran, he was martyred. He considered the life of this character an example of the connection between faith, action and jihad in the way of God.

 

Also, Ahmad Fahimi, a religious scholar from Balkh province, referring to the Ashura movement, considered the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) a school of honor, freedom and resistance against oppression and oppression, and emphasized that Muslims should follow the example of the Ashura culture and take steps on the path of seeking justice, seeking rights and defending Islamic values.

 

At the end of this ceremony, the participants emphasized the importance of holding Quranic and cultural gatherings, considering such programs as a basis for strengthening Islamic unity, expanding Quranic culture and familiarizing the young generation with religious values, sacrifice and resistance, and emphasized the continuation of such gatherings.
