Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Sports Service: The National Olympic, Physical Education and Sports Committee of the country announced in a press release that friendly kickboxing competitions were held with the participation of 80 athletes from eight sports clubs in Ghazni province in the central gymnasium of the province.
According to the committee's news, these competitions were held with the aim of improving the technical level of athletes, and participants in different age and weight categories competed with each other to win the title of top fighter, belt and championship trophy.
At the end of these competitions, 15 athletes were introduced as the top performers of the competitions, of which 9 won championship medals, four athletes won championship belts and two fighters won championship trophies.
Sports officials have considered holding such competitions effective in developing athletes' technical skills, increasing competitive experience, and identifying top talents in the field of kickboxing.
It is worth noting that kickboxing is a popular martial art in Afghanistan, and in recent years, provincial and regional competitions in this field have been held regularly in different provinces of the country in order to develop martial arts, improve the level of preparation of athletes, and introduce young talents.
