Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, along with members of the Organization and Salaries Commission, inspected the general condition of Bagram Prison and met with a number of prisoners.
The Presidential Palace said in a press release that Mr. Hanafi and his delegation visited different parts of Bagram Prison and closely evaluated the prisoners’ condition, health services, food distribution, detention conditions, and the process of addressing their problems.
According to the press release, during the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister's Office heard the demands of a number of prisoners and directed the relevant officials to ensure that the rights of prisoners are respected, detention conditions are improved, health services are strengthened, and prisoners' problems are given serious attention in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
Bagram Prison officials also assured the delegation that they will continue their efforts to solve existing problems and provide better services for prisoners.
Visiting prisoner detention centers and examining their conditions is among the programs that aim to assess prison conditions, improve services, address problems, and monitor the management of these centers.
