Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Sports Service: Mohammad Sarwar Hosseini, national jujitsu champion of Afghanistan, lost to his Kyrgyz opponent in the 69 kg weight category at the Asian Jujitsu Championships being held in Kazakhstan.
According to the country's National Olympic Committee, Hosseini had previously defeated two opponents from Vietnam and Cambodia in the same competition.
The athlete also drew with an Uzbek opponent, but lost to a Kyrgyz athlete in the rest of the competition.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Vakili, another Afghan athlete, is scheduled to face his opponent today in the 69 kg weight category.
The Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championships are being hosted by Kazakhstan and will feature athletes from 49 countries, with Afghanistan participating with two athletes and one coach.
The Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championships began on July 10 and will continue until July 18. Athletes from different countries will compete in this event to win medals and improve their standing in the field of Jiu-Jitsu.
