Deputy Head of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul: The Meaning of Real Resistance in Afghanistan is Fighting Occupation in Different Periods

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Seyed Hassan Mortazavi, Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, emphasized at a ceremony to honor Afghan futsal champions: “The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to support the security, stability, development and progress of Afghanistan and to fully respect the right of the people of this country to determine their own destiny. We do not support any movement or group to create conflict among Muslims and we believe that the future of Afghanistan should be determined through dialogue, understanding and participation of the people of this country themselves.”

 

The deputy head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Kabul added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always advised all political and social movements in Afghanistan to unite, sympathize, and maintain national cohesion. We have no religious, political, or customary mandate to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, and we never want even a single Afghan citizen to be harmed as a result of internal disputes. The lives of the Afghan people are precious to us.”

 

Mortazavi continued: “Iran does not interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, and if anyone claims that the Islamic Republic has played a role in creating insecurity in Afghanistan, they have spoken falsely. We follow developments in Afghanistan with compassion, share our experiences with our Afghan friends, but we consider it the right of the Afghan people to decide on the future of this country.”

 

Mortazavi emphasized: “Resistance in its true sense is in dear Gaza, Lebanon is oppressed, and Iran is a hero. From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, resistance is standing against occupation, hegemony, and the Zionist regime; "But conflict and fratricide among Muslims is not resistance and can never be defined within this framework."
