Honoring the country's top exporters; Ministry of Industry and Commerce emphasizes on developing exports and strengthening domestic production

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued a press release saying that during the ceremony to commemorate the National Export Day, the efforts of exporters who play a role in economic growth, trade development and introducing Afghan products to foreign markets were appreciated.

 

At the ceremony, Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi called exports the backbone of every country's economy and said that supporting exporters and strengthening production capacities are important factors in Afghanistan's economic growth.

 

He added that according to the ministry's database, more than 6,500 manufacturing factories are operating across the country and the process of registering new factories is also ongoing.

 

The Minister of Industry and Commerce also said that the Export Integration Program is being implemented and representatives of relevant departments are working together to facilitate the export process.

 

Mr. Azizi also reported on the progress of infrastructure work in the export zones in the six zones of the country and stated that if the current trend continues, these projects will be completed within the next year.

 

He stated that completing the production chain, increasing the quality of domestic products and expanding exports are among the main priorities of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

 

At the ceremony, a number of other officials, including Sheikh Hadith Maulvi Noorul Haq Anwar, Director General of the Department of Affairs; Maulvi Attaullah Omari, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock; Maulvi Shahabuddin Saqib, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce; and Maulvi Hesamuddin Saberi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, delivered speeches on the development of industry, production, exports, agriculture, trade and better utilization of the country’s mineral capacities.

 

Officials from the chambers of commerce and investment, agriculture and livestock, artisans, industries, and mines also emphasized supporting exporters, increasing investment, and strengthening the country's exports.

 

At the end of this program, top exporters in the coal, fresh and dried fruits, cotton, hemp, precious and semi-precious stones, saffron, legumes, handicrafts, medicinal plants, industrial products, vegetables, animal products, carpets, medicinal herbs, and mines sectors were honored with certificates of appreciation.
