Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The first season of the Afghan Premier Wrestling League was held in Kabul with the participation of 10 teams from different zones of the country, and in the end, the Qushtepe team won the championship trophy of the competition by defeating the Okhwat team in the final match.
According to the announcement of the Afghan Wrestling Federation, the competition was held in 10 weight categories and in a round-robin and points system. The teams of Okhwat, Balahisar, Dosti, Spinghar, Setareha, Solh, Qala Dost, Fateh, Qushtepe and Gakhankhan were present in this season.
The Wrestling Federation announced that the top athletes from different zones obtained the license to participate in the Premier League after succeeding in the selection competitions under the supervision of this federation. The top wrestlers of the tournament also won the opportunity to join the Afghan national wrestling team.
The tournament, attended by more than 100 top wrestlers from different provinces of the country, was held for 10 days in the 2,500-seat hall of the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports in Kabul and ended with the introduction of the first champion of the Premier League.
