Zionist analyst: Hamas will remain the main ruling power in Gaza

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth wrote in a report that the roadmap for implementing US President Donald Trump's plan for Gaza, even if a Palestinian technocratic government is formed and Hamas disarms, will still maintain the movement as a force with real influence in the Gaza Strip.

 

Ron Ben-Yishai, the newspaper's military analyst, wrote in this analysis that Hamas "will be a power that manages Gaza from behind the scenes."

 

He added that the document published by the "Peace Council" is more like a general statement than a binding agreement; Because the basic issues, including the type of weapons that Hamas must hand over and the mechanism for monitoring this process, still remain unanswered.

 

The Zionist analyst claimed that the aforementioned plan creates a situation similar to Lebanon's Hezbollah for Hamas; in such a way that the movement maintains its security and political influence through forces that may join the new Gaza police, and its members will continue to play a role in managing government institutions.

 

Ben Yishai also noted that there is a difference between Tel Aviv and Hamas regarding the timing of the withdrawal of the Israeli army forces from the "Yellow Line" and its connection to the disarmament process, but in his opinion, this is not the main issue; rather, the fundamental problem is that the aforementioned plan cannot eliminate Hamas's influence in Gaza.

 

He continued by considering the removal of armed groups cooperating with the Israeli regime from the Gaza scene as another point of attention in this agreement, adding that this document could bring political and spiritual gains for Hamas.
