Araqchi: Negotiations with Oman are on the way to being finalized/Baqai: The future management of the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of Iran and in consultation with Oman
Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented a report on the latest status of the negotiations between Iran and Oman at today's meeting of the government delegation and, referring to the progress of the talks, announced that the negotiations are on the way to being finalized and are in their final stages.
According to a report by the media of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of this country, on the sidelines of today's meeting of the government delegation, referring to the progress of the talks, announced that the negotiations are on the way to being finalized and are in their final stages.

On the other hand, Ismail Baqaai, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced today (Sunday) that based on the fifth paragraph of the Memorandum of Understanding on the end of the war, the future management of the Strait of Hormuz should be carried out by Iran and in consultation with Oman and in dialogue with the countries of the region. Referring to the talks with Oman in Tehran last Friday and Saturday, he described the talks as “useful” and “progressing.”

Baghaei emphasized that in the first 22 or 23 days of the implementation of the understanding, the northern route of the strait was completely safe and ships were moving through it. But before the end of the 30-day deadline for returning maritime traffic to pre-war conditions, “aggression against Iran” was committed. He also clarified that “there has been no change in the traffic situation in the Strait of Hormuz.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that these talks between Iran and Oman, as two coastal states, have been on the agenda for a long time and are independent of the issue of the US breach of the treaty and the closure of the strait due to insecurity imposed by the US’s aggressive actions.
