Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to tracking data, two empty giant oil tankers named "Hazm" and "Daylam" are heading towards Gibraltar, while four other tankers named "Ghina", "Lina", "Salam" and "Burgan" are heading towards the ports of Durban or Algawa Bay in South Africa.
The change in route shows that insecurity in the Red Sea has affected traditional energy transport routes, pushing shipping companies to use the longer route around the Cape of Good Hope.
It is worth noting that the Yemeni armed forces, declaring a naval blockade called a “blockade against a blockade,” have threatened to target Saudi-linked ships in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
The blockade has reportedly intensified since the Saudi airstrike on Sanaa airport on July 13 and is aimed at responding to Riyadh’s multi-year blockade of Yemen.
