The Rashid Media news site published a short clip of Amiri in which he addresses the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, saying that he is speaking to the brave mujahideen and my brothers and sisters in the Islamic Resistance, and I ask them to delay the response to the US and Saudi attacks on Iraq for the sake of Iraq's supreme interests.
He added: “We promise all the mujahideen that we will pursue the rights of the martyrs and the wounded through diplomatic channels, and God willing, we will achieve all of this.” Al-Amiri concluded by thanking all the forces of the Islamic resistance in Iraq.
A number of headquarters of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Organization in different regions of the country were targeted by joint US and Saudi aggression attacks on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning (August 26 and 27). The Popular Mobilization called these attacks “terrorist” and announced that at least 20 people were martyred and 32 others were injured as a result.
It is worth noting that these attacks have brought widespread reactions at the domestic and international levels, and Iraqi resistance groups have promised to respond. However, it seems that Al-Amiri’s call to protect the country’s supreme interests and prevent an escalation of tensions has temporarily prevented a military response.
