Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The British company Windward has reported that Yemeni threats have spread to Saudi territorial waters over the past four days, and if this situation continues, the alternative route for Saudi ships to bypass the African continent will also be limited.
According to reports attributed to the Kepler company, Saudi Arabia's oil exports, which had decreased from about 8 million barrels per day to nearly 4 million barrels after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, have now reached less than one million barrels per day.
These developments occurred after Yemeni forces targeted a Saudi oil tanker named "Wafa" near the port of Yanbu in Saudi waters on Wednesday.
According to published reports, the tanker was supposed to transport nearly 2 million barrels of Saudi oil, which was not possible to transport normally due to restrictions on the Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab routes, via a longer route, passing through the Suez Canal, to Asian markets.
If the intensification of insecurity in the region's maritime routes continues, it could increase the cost and time of transporting Saudi oil to Asian markets and put further pressure on the energy supply chain in the region.
