Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: He emphasized that the previous route in the Strait of Hormuz is no longer acceptable to Iran and a new route will be determined with the cooperation of Oman.
Stating that determining a new route in the Strait of Hormuz has extensive technical and legal complexities, the Foreign Minister said that a “temporary route” is currently being discussed, which will be the basis for the main route. In this regard, negotiations have been held between the military and naval forces of the two countries based on existing maps, and upon the conclusion of these negotiations, the new route will be determined.
Araghchi also pointed out that "countries like Russia are seeking the rapid implementation of the convention," emphasizing that the feature of this convention is that no foreign military forces will be present in the Caspian Sea.
His remarks come at a time when a ship belonging to the ADNOC company (Emirates) was recently targeted by a missile in the Strait of Hormuz and CNN has also reported that the US Army Chief of Staff is looking for a "way out" of the war with Iran.
