According to Fars, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement announcing that the call reviewed bilateral relations between Iraq and France and ways to develop them, strengthening joint cooperation in various fields, economic cooperation and investment in Iraq, and opportunities available to French companies. Al-Zaidi asked Macron to visit Iraq and pave the way for sustainable economic partnership and investment between the two countries.
The Iraqi Prime Minister also said that his country is keen to have "balanced relations" with neighboring countries and will not allow its territory to threaten the security of its neighbors. He stressed the need to support the security, sovereignty and interests of the Iraqi people and to resolve regional issues through dialogue. The French President also appreciated the actions of the Iraqi government and stressed France's support for Iraq's efforts to fight corruption, implement economic reforms and strengthen the capabilities of its armed forces.
