Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Herat: At the inauguration ceremony of this center, officials of the Islamic Emirate described the establishment of a standardized laboratory in Herat as an important step to improve the quality of domestic products, prevent the import and production of substandard materials and medicines, and facilitate the process of testing products in the western zone of the country.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, said at the inauguration ceremony of this center that the establishment of a standardized testing center in Herat could play an important role in raising production standards and ensuring the quality of products for domestic and foreign markets.
He added that in order to produce standardized products, it is necessary to comply with the necessary standards and the products produced must be reliable in terms of quality and health.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs emphasized that the activities of this center are not limited to examining imported goods, but domestic products will also be tested in this center and their quality will be checked.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said that previously, Herat traders and manufacturers had to transfer their product samples to Kabul to conduct some standardized tests, which was a time-consuming process; but with the establishment of the Western Zone Food, Spices and Health Products Quality Laboratory, this problem has been resolved in Herat and more convenience will be provided for traders and manufacturers.
He added: If domestic products are produced and tested according to the necessary standards, they can compete with products from other countries in foreign markets.
In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs called on the officials to fulfill their responsibilities to the nation and the system properly and emphasized that this project has reached the exploitation stage with the sincerity and efforts of the officials.
Preventing the import and production of low-quality materials
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Prime Minister, also said at the opening ceremony of the center that establishing standard laboratories in different zones of the country can prevent the import and production of low-quality materials.
He added that in order to accelerate the process of sampling and testing of medicines and food, it has been decided to establish laboratory centers in different zones of the country.
According to him, previously the process of sampling and testing of medicines and food was time-consuming; but with the establishment of laboratory centers in the zones, this process will be carried out within the same regions.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi said that in this center, medicines and food produced in factories in the western zone will be examined and tested and the production or import of low-quality materials will not be allowed.
He called on traders to pay serious attention to the quality of food and medicines, saying that no one wants to give low-quality medicines and food to their children; Therefore, businessmen should also consider people as their own children and strive to provide quality products.
The Deputy Prime Minister also mentioned the government's economic and infrastructure programs and said that by implementing major projects, including the TAPI project, people's access to gas, improving electricity supply, and creating job opportunities will be provided.
Hanafi added that in the future, laboratory centers will be activated in all zones of the country, and companies that produce low-quality materials contrary to the established standards will face serious measures and may be blacklisted.
