At least six US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker tankers have been damaged and one has been completely destroyed during the military conflict with Iran. Five of these planes were damaged in an Iranian missile attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia and one in a mid-air collision with another tanker over Iraq.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In the mid-air collision, a tanker crashed, killing all six people on board. The other plane managed to return to base despite severe damage to its tail. These planes, which are considered the most important support assets of the US Air Force, have been transferred to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma for major repairs after temporary repairs in the region.
The KC-135, based on the Boeing 707, has been in service with the US Air Force since 1957 and plays a key role in refueling fighters and bombers on long-range missions.
The aircraft are overhauled at the same time as their five-yearly overhaul, but due to hidden damage and war complications, it can take longer than the average of 155 days. At least two other damaged tankers have also been spotted being flown to the US for temporary repairs.
