Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Simultaneously with this event, an agreement to establish a gas network in Herat Province was also signed between the officials of the Islamic Emirate and Turkmenistan.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund said that with the progress of the TAPI project, practical work on establishing a gas network in Herat city and the industrial park by the Turkmengaz Company in cooperation with the private sector will begin soon.
Sheikh Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, also announced that with the launch of this project, thousands of people will be provided with work and employment opportunities and that the TAPI project in Herat will be completed in the coming months.
It is worth noting that the TAPI project is one of the most important economic projects in the region, which, by transferring Turkmen gas to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, can play an important role in providing energy and economic development of the countries in the region.
Turkmenistan officials also announced that about 120 kilometers of pipelines have been laid for this project so far. This agreement comes while Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar had previously emphasized adjusting gas prices and cooperating in building a distribution network in a meeting with the national leader of Turkmenistan.
