Iraq: Golan is Syrian territory

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to WAA, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Colombia's decision to recognize the Israeli regime's sovereignty over the Syrian Golan.

 

The ministry emphasized in a statement: The Golan is Syrian territory and no party has the right to change its legal status or grant the occupier legitimacy that has no legal basis. Colombia's decision has no legal effect and does not change the fact that the Golan is inseparable from Syria.

 

The statement states: Recognizing the sovereignty of the occupying power over the occupied territories is a dangerous practice that undermines the principles of international law and the UN Charter, especially the principle of respect for the sovereignty of countries and the integrity of their territory.

 

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry once again emphasized its permanent position in opposing the Zionist regime's occupation of Arab lands and declared its full solidarity with Syria in preserving the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
