Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Afghan Power Company issued a press release saying that Mullah Abdul Haq Hammar, the company’s CEO, met with technical and commercial officials of the Russian Power Machines Company and discussed investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s electricity generation sector.
In this meeting, Mullah Abdul Haq Hammar said that the Afghan Power Company will provide the necessary conditions and facilities for investing in the basic reconstruction of electricity generation plants, modernization of equipment, and increasing production capacity.
He added that the Afghan Power Company will also cooperate with the Russian Power Machines Company in the initial technical assessments of existing electricity generation plants.
On the other hand, Denis Rudakov, head of the commercial department of Power Machines, said that the company plans to conduct preliminary technical assessments of existing power plants in Afghanistan.
According to him, after completing the assessments, based on the results obtained, the necessary plans will be prepared for the basic reconstruction, modernization of equipment and increase in the power generation capacity of existing plants.
To increase domestic power production and reduce dependence on electricity imports, Afghanistan needs to reconstruct and modernize existing power plants and expand production capacity. In this regard, the Breshna Company is trying to provide the basis for investment by the private sector and foreign companies in power generation projects.
