New conspiracy between the Zionist regime and the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to Russia Today, Reuters news agency announced that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to introduce Britain, Italy, Switzerland and Indonesia as possible participants in a mechanism that may lead to the deployment of foreign forces to verify Hezbollah's disarmament.

 

The news agency wrote, citing informed sources, that the two sides agreed on this short list during talks held in Rome last week and mediated by the United States. These talks are the latest round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon on the implementation of the June framework agreement, which has conditioned Israel's gradual withdrawal from Lebanon on Hezbollah's disarmament.

 

The three sources said the countries could help define the scope of the mechanism, provide manpower to oversee its implementation, contribute to the monitoring force, or participate in inspection operations related to disarmament verification.

 

A Lebanese official previously told Reuters that Tel Aviv and Beirut had agreed on a list of candidate countries that could send forces to verify disarmament, but declined to name the exact countries, saying the United States would make the final decision on which countries would participate.

 

Some sources said the proposed mechanism would involve inspecting villages in southern Lebanon and verifying that they were free of weapons, and that Israel wanted the inspections to include private homes.

 

Lebanon and Israel reached a framework agreement in late June under U.S. mediation as part of Washington’s efforts to end the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

 

These developments come at a time when Hezbollah in Lebanon has always emphasized that the weapons of resistance will be maintained as long as the occupation and aggressive actions of the Zionist regime continue.
