Minister of Industry and Trade meets with Iranian Minister of Agricultural Jihad; Emphasis on trade development and setting a target of $10 billion

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)- Kabul: The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that one of the main themes of the meeting was facilitating the transfer of Afghan exports via Iran.

 

The press release added that issues such as Afghan carpet and rug exports, resolving transit problems, signing a quarantine document, more effective use of the capacity of Chabahar Port, and providing refrigerated containers for the transfer of agricultural and horticultural products were discussed. It was also emphasized to reduce the stopping time of vehicles and commercial cargoes, facilitate the inspection process and reduce transportation costs, which is of fundamental importance for seasonal and perishable products of Afghanistan.

 

The report added that the Minister of Agricultural Jihad of Iran announced his country's readiness to expand joint cooperation with Afghanistan, especially in the agricultural sector, and said that special structures have been established at the government and Ministry of Agricultural Jihad of Iran to follow up on matters related to Afghanistan.

 

The press release of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that in return, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, welcoming the expansion of cooperation, considered the goal of increasing the trade volume between the two countries to 10 billion dollars if the grounds are provided and existing obstacles are removed, a new perspective for the economic relations of the two countries and emphasized the effort to establish balanced trade relations.
