Yahoo News Claims: UAE Releases Billions of Dollars of Frozen Iranian Assets / Transfers 1.5 Tons of Gold to Tehran

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Hormuz Letter media and other sources on the X social network have claimed that these assets included 1.5 tons of gold and were transferred from Abu Dhabi to Tehran's Mehrabad Airport and Karaj's Payam Airport on August 11 and 12.

 

According to these sources, the aircraft stopped in Iran for less than an hour on each flight and then returned.

 

It is worth noting that previously, Reuters reported in June that the UAE had agreed to release $10 billion to $20 billion in Iranian assets, with more than $3 billion of that being handed over amid the US-Iran war.

 

However, the UAE Foreign Ministry denied the reports at the time, stating that “no frozen Iranian assets have been released, transferred or facilitated through the UAE.”
