Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Sanzar Kakar, founder and head of the HasbaPay application, said at the ceremony that this platform has so far more than one million registered customers in 34 provinces of Afghanistan and about 9 billion Afghanis in monthly financial transactions are carried out through it.
He added that Hashpay has received all the necessary licenses from Da Afghanistan Bank and has developed its financial services in cooperation with private banks and electronic and digital payment institutions.
Kakar stated that the main goal of the company is to provide more opportunities for Afghan citizens to use digital services internationally and said: “We are trying to connect the Afghan payment ecosystem to the global payment system.”
Referring to the importance of recording and transparency of financial transactions, he stated that recording financial transactions, in addition to being an economic necessity, is also a divine command.
The head of Hashpay noted that users can benefit from the services of this system in three ways, including online payment, using credit balance and offline card. According to him, the possibility of earning money through Hashpay services has also been provided.
Kakar also announced the launch of a free Visa card through Hashpay, saying that the card can be used on more than 150 million websites worldwide and that a new code is generated for each online purchase to increase security. He added that more than four billion Visa cards have been printed worldwide so far.
He also announced cooperation with Afghan Post to pay more than 60 types of government tariffs, and said that the smart company has also provided the basis for connecting Afghan banks to global banks and conducting currency exchanges.
Continuing the ceremony, Ahmad Shapur Miakhil, Deputy Director of the Non-Banking Supervision Department of the Central Bank, stated that the institution will expand digital payment services across the country in the near future.
He emphasized: “This digital program is not currency, but real money in digital form, and we hope that every Afghan citizen will be able to make everyday payments with their bank card or mobile phone.”
Asadullah Sarwari, Deputy Director of the Afghan Payment System, also said that currently 12 domestic and foreign private banks and 21 payment service providers are operating in this network, and cooperation with the Islamic Emirate's departments is also continuing to facilitate digital payments.
Ahmad Shakir Wali, Country Representative of the United Nations Development Fund, also considered the launch of the Visa card a sign of the global payment system's trust in Afghanistan's digital ecosystem at the ceremony, and said that this measure, while increasing international trust, provides the basis for connecting Afghan small businesses to major global markets.
HasbaPay officials also announced that users of this application can perform various services, including free money transfers between 34 provinces, online food ordering, purchasing mobile credit with a commission, paying electricity bills, purchasing bus tickets, and domestic and international flight tickets through this system.
