Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Ismail Baqaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in his weekly press conference in response to a question about the approaching fifth anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Emirate government in Afghanistan and the issue of its recognition by Iran: “The relationship between Iran and Afghanistan is good in various areas.”
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran added: “For very clear reasons, two neighboring Muslim countries with innumerable cultural and historical similarities should be able to take into account each other’s concerns in their interactions and be able to use their various economic and... capacities.”
Emphasizing the continuation of relations between Tehran and Kabul, Beqaei stated: “Regardless of the recognition issue, we have continued and will continue our relations with Afghanistan in various fields.”
Regarding the issue of recognizing the Islamic Emirate government, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also said: “The issue of recognition is a legal and political issue, and we will announce it whenever we reach a conclusion, but this issue should not prevent us from continuing or strengthening our relations in various fields.”
