An Emirati tanker was seized in the Strait of Hormuz

According to news sources, according to Iran’s new arrangements for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, ships are required to follow routes determined by Iran, pay service fees, and obtain permits from the Revolutionary Guard Navy.

 

The Revolutionary Guard had previously announced that “any unauthorized traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will be prosecuted” and that vessels that deviate from Iran’s announced routes will be stopped.

 

It is worth noting that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have increased sharply in recent days. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command has denied US claims that ships are passing through the waterway normally and has emphasized Iran's complete control over the strait.

 

Reuters also reported, citing a senior Iranian official, that Tehran has decided to change its policy from defensive to offensive and will be ready to escalate tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the region if diplomacy fails.
