Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 791 Ukrainian drones over various regions of Russia, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov last night.
According to data released by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, 180 drones were destroyed in the Moscow region from Monday evening to 5 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
Sobyanin also announced that drone strikes continued after 5 a.m., and by 8 a.m., 17 more drones had been shot down en route to Moscow.
According to an analysis by the RIA Novosti news agency, the attack is one of the largest Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow since the beginning of the summer.
The largest drone strike recorded this summer, and one of the most widespread in the past two years, occurred on August 16, when the Moscow mayor announced the destruction of 201 drones in the Moscow region from the evening to 6:30 a.m.
Russian authorities have not yet released further details about the possible damage caused by the attacks.
