Iran aims to break the world’s record for the largest solar power plant by breaking ground on a 5,000 MW solar power plant in the foothills of Isfahan.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Iranian media have reported that the project, which will be implemented with a private sector investment of $2.8 billion, will be built on an area of 6,000 hectares and in the form of two 2,000 MW packages and one 1,000 MW package.
According to Fars, Ebrahim Karimi, director of the Isfahan Governorate’s Energy Desk, said that the construction of the power plant will be broken soon. The governor of Isfahan has also described the power plant as “the world’s largest solar power plant.” This rank is currently held by India.
It has been said that the power plant can provide electricity to about 10 percent of Iran’s population per month.
