Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, made these statements at a ceremony held by the Ministry of National Defense on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence.
Mr. Baradar emphasized that in order to maintain the country's independence, political and economic dependencies must be prevented and the ground for modern education and the use of technology must be provided in the country.
He also called on the opposition and those who disrupt the country's security to refrain from fueling civil wars and cooperate alongside the system for the prosperity and development of Afghanistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs added that major economic projects have been implemented in the country and efforts to increase development and economic projects are continuing.
Referring to the experience of the presence and failure of foreign countries in Afghanistan, he emphasized the need to use past lessons to maintain independence and strengthen the country's economic and political foundations.
Afghanistan regained its independence from Britain in 1298 AH, after the Third Anglo-Afghan War, under the leadership of King Amanullah Khan. Since then, Afghanistan's political independence has been considered one of the most important events in the country's contemporary history and this occasion is commemorated every year.
