Nepalese police announced on Thursday that the death toll from devastating floods in the border areas of Nepal and China has risen to 359. More than 900 others are still missing and search and rescue operations are ongoing to find them.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to news sources, the disaster occurred after a glacier collapsed in the border area of Nepal and China.
The huge wave of water and mud, described as an "inland tsunami", destroyed villages along the Bhut Koshi and Trishuli rivers and swept away bridges and roads.
Hundreds of foreign tourists from more than 24 countries are among the missing. According to initial reports, 178 Indian tourists, 65 Americans, 33 Britons and 25 Canadians are among the missing. On the Chinese side of the border, at least 558 people, including 260 foreigners, have been reported missing.
