Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: According to reports, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Sayyed Abbas Araqchi in Tehran, emphasized Doha’s full support for the proposed framework between Iran and Oman to establish a temporary shipping corridor in the Strait of Hormuz and called for freedom of navigation.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry also announced in this regard: Al Thani consulted with Araqchi about efforts to reduce tensions and provide conditions for dialogue. During this meeting, they discussed negotiations related to the proposed temporary framework for establishing a temporary joint shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry added: Doha and Tehran discussed an agreement to implement a “joint project” aimed at clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz.
