Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of relations with Afghanistan and said Tashkent would continue its constructive, multilateral and balanced policy towards Kabul.

According to Uzbek media, the president stressed that the country will continue its "multilateral, measured and balanced" foreign policy to become one of the most important centers of international diplomacy, and Afghanistan has a special place in this policy.
Mirziyoyev also announced that Uzbekistan will take over the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement for the first time from 2027 to 2029, during which time it will propose initiatives to increase the effectiveness of the organization, which includes more than 120 countries.
He also said that economic diplomacy will continue to be a priority of Uzbekistan's foreign policy.
