More than 704,000 tons of goods transported through the country's railways in July

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to these statistics, 464,767 tons were transported via Hairatan Port, 39,831 tons from Aqina, 62,150 tons from Turghandi and 137,687 tons via the Khaf-Herat railway.

 

Part of these transfers included Afghan exports, and 3,751 tons of carbonated beverages were also exported in Asad. The country's rail exports mostly include dried fruits, minerals and agricultural products.

 

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesman for the ministry, considered the increase in transfers and exports via railways effective in creating job opportunities, increasing national revenues, and strengthening economic stability, and said that he is working to provide greater convenience to traders.

 

It is worth noting that previously, in July, 716,300 metric tons of goods were transferred via the country's railways, with most transfers taking place through Hairatan Port at that time.

 

This increasing trend indicates the development of trade and transit via railways and its key role in the Afghan economy. However, experts believe that in order to fully utilize the capacities of railways, there is a need for more investment in infrastructure and facilitation of customs processes.
